Location: Mackenzie Basin, New Zealand
Sometimes referred to as Mackenzie’s hidden gem, Lake Alexandriana is an absolutely phenomenal slice of quintessential South Island. Surrounded by tall mountain peaks the lake itself is very deep making it popular for trout and salmon fishing. It was these fisherman’s boats that I decided to focus on as I set up for this shot. The mid-autumn light and changing seasonal colours made for such a tranquil scene, I already had a good idea what I was going to name this photograph.
