Location: Mackenzie Basin, New Zealand
On the advice of a local I headed to a little known point at dawn to capture this photograph looking out across Lake Alexandrina. It is such a beautiful spot and because it is slightly off the beaten track I was the only one there and enjoyed an incredible light display from a stunning sunrise across the Southern Alps to a lovely crisp autumn morning. As I sat there taking this photograph I knew I was capturing a little slice of quintessential South Island.
