Ian has constructed this lifelike weta from hand beaten copper and old copper coins. Have a close look at the detail and you'll see coins from 1941, 1942, 1949, 1953, 1954, 1959 and 1961. Ian, who is based in Hokitika, is a true craftsman, making sculpture by bending, beating and burning copper. He uses controlled heat patina that brings out rainbow colours in the metal by heating and cooling it to different temperatures.

Lisa is a contemporary glass and ceramic artist, working from her studio on Auckland's North Shore, New Zealand. Creating original sculptural art works which are predominantly made using kiln cast glass and mixed media. Lisa also designs and makes a range of functional ceramics for the home.
Specialising in kiln cast glass, Lisa creates contemporary glass and mixed media sculptures made using the lost wax technique. Current work explores the connection between two kiln heated materials, glass and ceramic, producing sculptural works that can move or are interchangeable.
Her works are exhibited regularly around New Zealand and Internationally, with works in public and private collections, both here and overseas.
