Just a bit taller than a rugby ball on its end, the Kororā is the world’s smallest (and cutest) penguin. And what a worker! It’ll spend all day in the ocean busily catching fish, then trudge up to 1.5km to their nests – in the dark – to hungry chicks!
Because of kiwis’ love for coastal property, many Kororā are now nesting under houses and even in stormwater pipes and attacks by dogs and other predators have sent their numbers into decline.
Kororā is:
- Size 31cm high by 20cm wide
- Is made locally in a family-owned factory, right here in NZ
- Is crafted from 3mm Corten steel and designed to last a lifetime
- Install tip: If installing into a post or a hard surface, we've found most success by tapping the hammer inside the little penguin, between the feet. Kororās also love to be nestled in the grass, or a flower pot!
