This new series titled "Handle with care" draws attention to our native New Zealand bird species. Delicate layers and detailing within each painting serve to enhance their precious nature and each is encircled with recycled barbed wire, requiring that the artworks themselves are handled with care.
This series has sold with just the "Karearea" (New Zealand falcon) remaining and its national status is 'In recovery'.

This beautiful old oar has sprung back into a life of beauty under Justine's talented hands. It includes a carefully drawn dinghy floating on a nautical chart that stretches from Waiheke Island to Coromandel Town. The drawings continue across the handle and are interlaced with copper detailing to create quite the stunning horizontal artwork. What makes it so special is the aged use of the oar.

Arranging objects that are full of memories is a reoccuring theme for Deb. For these two smaller paintings she has pulled old sheds and houses from rural New Zealand and placed them into a contemporary landscape of delicately layered colours. They evoke such a sense of nostalgia!
