Ted (Sanderson) Kindleysides’s career began at Elam School of Fine Art in 1963 where he graduated with Honours in Sculpture and over the following 40 years he has produced and exhibited extensively in New Zealand and Australia. Initially working in bronze, Ted moved to ceramics, yet the sculptural element did not leave his exhibition work. Ted’s work was a regular feature at the Fletcher Challenge Ceramics Award for over a decade. Over the years he has received over fifty awards, including The Gold Coast Ceramic Award and Waitakere City Artist Award in the Portage Ceramic Awards in 2002.
